Seeds Set for Sold Out Dinkeroo Wednesday, June 7 at Marshdale
All 48 slots have been nabbed for EPC’s 2023 Dinkeroo next week at Marshdale. Six groups of 8 players by skill level will compete for claims to dinking royalty and prizes for top three finishers in each group.
Competitors are asked to be present at 7:45 am to check in, review rules and court assignments. Play will begin promptly at 8 am. Expect to play through the noon hour.
If you are unable to make it at the last minute let Mick Pearce know so he can find a replacement.
Volunteers Needed for Busy EPC Events Schedule Wednesday, May 7
As if the Dinkeroo wasn’t enough, we’re also booked for EPRD’s Summer Kids Camp that day. We need volunteers for both.
For those not competing in the tournament, but wanting to see all the action - yes, we know, it’s dinking - letting Mick Pearce know you can volunteer puts you in the middle of the 8 courts that will be going from 8 am to 1 pm or so.
For some high energy, fast-paced volunteering let Linda Jacobsen know you can join her Wednesday from 12:45 to 2 p.m. at Wulf Rec Center for Summer Kids Camp.
Either way you’ll feel good about helping out your club with a couple of the many events we produce during the summer.
Rodeo Parade Powered by Pickleball Players
Again this year, EPC is entered in the Evergreen Rodeo Parade, Saturday, June 17 via Mike Morris’s vintage 1960 Chevy Biscayne.
Players walk behind the car, dinking the ball back and forth, passing out candy and answering the question: “What’s pickleball?”
If you know the answer and have always wanted to be in the parade, this is how you do it. Sign up here.
Volunteer to Monitor EPRD’s Pickleball Courts and Wear This Cool T-Shirt
EPRD is seeking applications for Volunteer Pickleball Court Monitors at Marshdale and Wulf.
We thought we’d sweeten the deal and throw in this official, unofficial Pickleball Police t-shirt to anyone who takes the job.
To apply contact Jeff Sweet or Brian Tucker at EPRD and request a volunteer info packet.
Special Request: Who’s Up for a 70+ Tournament This Summer?
If you remember the 1970s, as they say, you probably weren’t there. Something similar happens in your 70s. So, how about a 70s+ tournament to level the playing field where everyone has an occasional flashback, broken axle or wingnut?
With enough players we could have two or more skill level groups of 8 compete for absolutely nothing but fun and friendship. Date, time and place TBD. Open to everyone born 1953 or earlier. Let Larry Flowers know you’re in.
