Change of Date: Challenge Court & Picnic Moving to This Thursday, 2-4 pm

Linda Jacobsen, USA Pickleball Ambassador alerts us: “The weather is turning gnarly this weekend, so we’re moving the Challenge Court & BYOE Picnic to Thursday, April 21 at Marshdale, 2-4 pm, when the weather looks great.

“There will be 1 Challenge Court and 3 open courts. Come play and party.

“BYOE means Bring Your Own Everything: food, drinks, serving utensils. There will be no grilling at this event. Let’s try to be green; sustainability is wonderful and responsible. Bring reusable things if possible.”

Here are the Challenge Court rules:

Marshdale Courts to be Patched Soon

Pat Bixenman, EPC Facilities & Equipment, informs us that EPRD is planning to patch the bubbling and cracking on Marshdale Courts as soon as they can schedule the repairs. No set date yet and we’ll need to stay off the courts for a couple days to let it dry when it is fixed. But it should make for a playable summer and fall season on all 8 courts.

Want to Become a USA Pickleball Tournament Referee?

Michael Morian, USA Pickleball Regional Referee Trainer writes: “Hello Evergreen Pickleball Club. I have been teaching and training referees in the 7-state Great Plains Region. Any of your club members who have a desire to learn how to become a referee or have some experience are welcome to contact me at 303-638-9735 or mmorian@outlook.com to get evaluated and further training. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Big Mike”

Big Mike also offered to use some EPC tournaments to give his trainees experience. We’ll definitely take him up on that.
