Lots of New Faces at Spring Fling
About 60+ pickleball players and friends turned out for the Spring Fling at El Rancho Brewing Company last night. Gig Blitz and Robin Stahnke welcomed us with craft beers, glasses of wine, an appetizer buffet and a waitstaff that was attentive and professional.
Some old faces we haven’t seen lately were there. But the number of new faces and names was astounding. So good to see the newcomers come out to celebrate National Pickleball Month. Congratulations and thanks to Jerry Beth Owen and Linda Jacobsen for putting together a fun, fabulous time.
How to Tell You Had Too Much Fun at the Spring Fling
You left your book, “Pickleball 5.0” lying on the table. Or maybe you thought someone else could make better use of it than you did. If you’d like to get it back contact us and we’ll work out arrangements. If not, don’t be surprised if it’s the raffle prize at our next social.
Get Ready for EPC Challenge Court & Picnic Saturday, April 23
To bring National Pickleball Month to a close, EPC invites all our new players and our veterans as well to mingle and get to know one another at the Challenge Court & Picnic, Saturday, April 23, 2 - 6 pm at Marshdale.
Correction: This a BYOE event, i.e., Bring Your Own Everything. Bring your picnic, sandwich, dogs to grill or whatever. Don’t forget your beverages and reusable settings. (We’re trying to keep paper and plastic out of the landfill.)
The Challenge Court will go all afternoon. Test your pickleball mettle and see how far up you and your partner can move.
No need to RSVP.
Beware Playing at Wulf Friday
No, not that, but this from Jeff Sweet at EPRD: “Hello- fyi, we will have a contractor in the gym on Friday 4/15 doing some maintenance on the basketball goals and curtain. Pickleball play may be affected throughout the day. Please share with anyone who might attend on Friday.”

USA Pickleball Sponsors NASCAR Car
Last Friday USA Pickleball took the game onto the NASCAR track as Ryan Truex of Joe Gibbs Racing drove the ShopUSAPickleball.com car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race, Call 811 Before You Dig at Martinsville Speedway.
Wait a minute. Shouldn’t it be Call 002 Before You Dink? Or the Third Shot Drop or Drive? Oh, we get it: the fastest growing sport is now on the speedway.
