New Pickleball Venues Edge Closer to Evergreen

Want to get in on the ground floor of a new indoor pickleball facility coming to Wheat Ridge this fall? Head to 3rdshotpickleball.com to register for announcements about their grand opening date, league signups and coupons.

Adam Kahn and Max Ireland are partnering to open 3rd Shot Pickleball Club on Wadsworth between 6th Avenue and I-70, with a hoped-for opening date of Oct. 1. Max said they envision serving up to 800 players a day on 13 indoor courts featuring a premium outdoor court surface.

High ceilings, great lighting and 10-foot nets separating the courts should make for great play. “We are open to the public and will also offer membership options for the frequent/avid players,” Adam said. A full bar and light food options will be available, along with a pro shop.

EPC members often lament the lack of access to expert instruction, even though our own Sarah German and Andy Clark try valiantly to meet the need. 3rd Shot will have multiple pros on staff to provide private and group lessons. There will also be times for our beloved drop-in play, as well as leagues and ladders.

And if you’re looking for a wedding venue, or just a good reason to pop the question, Adam and Max have you covered.

It still says Lucky’s in real life.

Dinkeroo: Get There!

All those with the pickleball chops to take on the Dinkeroo, be sure to arrive by 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning or you might be booted from competition. Bob Taber wants me to tell you the weather looks spectacular, sunny and 60 degrees with no wind. He must know something I don’t know.

North Evergreen Courts Set to Open This Week

Al Buenning and his troops industriously repaired and crack-filled the courts at Evergreen Middle School Monday morning. He anticipates they will be playable Wednesday. Remember, you have to be an EPC member to play there and sign a liability waiver for Jeffco Schools.

If the weather cooperates like it did Monday, painting will commence at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and take a couple of hours. If you’d like to lend a hand, let Al know. He offered special thanks to those who chipped in Monday: Dale and Diane J., Bob K., Dave D. and “Little” Al B.  Frankie K. arrived in time to validate the work!

Paddle Racks at Marshdale

A friend of his shared a photo of some paddle racks in use in Las Cruces, NM, so Scott Williams employed his considerable woodworking skills to enhance the fences at Marshdale. Thanks for always working to make things better for EPC players, Scott.
