Parade Your Pickleball Prowess
We all know there are a whole lot of new pickleball players in the area, so there must be more than a few that love a parade. Let’s get behind Mike Morris’ vintage 1960 Biscayne to share our love of the sport with the masses that will line the annual Evergreen Rodeo Parade route Saturday morning, June 17.
As the parade passes through an always rowdy crowd in downtown Evergreen, you’ll distribute candy, dink some pickleballs and answer questions about just what you’re doing out there.
Linda Jacobsen, Evergreen’s intrepid USA Pickleball Ambassador, is looking for more participants. Sign up here.
4 More Courts Open to EPC Members
Al Buenning reports conditions were perfect Saturday at 9 a.m. when 16 players ventured onto the courts at Evergreen Middle School. The 16, all EPC members, signed their required liability waivers and several more members joined the waiver list Sunday.
Al said a number of participants made financial contributions to refurbishing the courts for the current season. “Special thanks to Jim Malone, Warren Zimmer, Dino Pareto, Karen and Bud Parr, June and Bruce Flinn, Dale and Dianne Jeffries, and Jeff Freeman - your generosity has our funds in the positive position,” Al said. “We will continue to make improvements with these extra resources: a special security box for equipment, nets and maybe some wind screening.”
