EPC Board Fills Open Seat and Adds Two New Seats
New faces joining the EPC Board of Directors include Bob Kerr, Debbie Marshall and David Huerta. Bob filled the seat vacated by Sarah German on her seasonal move to Arizona. The board elected him vice president.
The board agreed to expand, given the explosive growth of members, players, facilities (more to come after Nov. 7) and programs. The number of tournaments held this summer doubled over last year. We had the biggest social event on our history with April’s Spring Fling, hosted by our Coldwell Banker Realtor Gig Blitz. New and up-to-date website content is added every week, gaining nearly 4 times the visits of two years ago.
Given the increased workload and the board’s intention to create more opportunities for Evergreen pickleball in the next two years, it added two new board seats. Appointed to those seats are Debbie Marshall and David Huerta.
As you may have noticed Debbie has been working on this newsletter; her time spent as editor of the Canyon Courier reflected in her excellent reporting and writing. David has jumped head first into all things pickleball; an everyday presence on the courts, volunteering for and playing in tournaments, signing on as member #001 (and first employee/volunteer) at the soon to open 3rd Shot Pickleball in Wheat Ridge.
Their addition brings the total number of board members to 12.

Three current board positions are up for election at the annual General Membership Meeting, Thursday, Nov. 30, 10 am, at Wulf Rec Center.
Two of the three positions are currently held by John Dunlop and Monte Poague, both of whom have agreed to run for re-election. The third seat will be vacated by Bob Taber, who is term limited.
Nominations are open through Friday, Nov. 10. Two candidates have already raised their hands: Paul Cook and Travis Ervick. You can nominate an EPC member you think would work hard and make things happen for Evergreen pickleball.
EPRD Classes for November Sold Out; December Classes Still Open
Overheard at Wulf this week: “Those classes with Corrine are so much fun. I can’t wait to do Skills & Drills.”
Corrine Jackson’s pickleball classes have been a big hit. Both the introductory classes for Beginners and Skills & Drills classes for intermediates were sold out in October and November.
But if you know a “never ever” who’d like to learn pickleball or you’d like to learn some skills drills to make your play better, now’s the time to sign up for December classes.
Weather Looks Perfect for Play at Marshdale This Weekend
Monte Poague, EPC Facilities & Equipment, tells us Marshdale is clear and ready for play. With temps in the mid to high 60s and lots of sunshine this weekend, it’s the place to play. Of course with daylight saving time ending Saturday night, the sun will be up early Sunday for a bright 8 am start.
