Be Game to Let Your Imagination Go Wild!

EPC members are invited to a Halloween Sock Hop at The Wild Game Restaurant in Bergen Park Thursday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. A $10 charge will cover a DJ and venue rental.

There will be a cash bar and a variety of food that may be ordered from the Wild Game menu.

A DJ will fill the air with fifties and sixties music and the floor will be open for dancing.. There will be a dance contest with prizes.

“For everyone else, there is plenty of space to socialize away from the music,” organizer Cherie Peterson said. “We promise it won't be too loud!”

So, rock out and roll back time, dressing in your favorite costume of the era. “Or in any era for that matter,” Cherie said. “Hippies, yuppies, suits, white sports coats with pink carnation, poodle skirts, sports heroes.”

Privileges of Membership

Why belong to Evergreen Pickleball Club, which costs just $15 a year? Well, you’ll have the inside track on what’s happening in the local pickleball scene, including the signup dates for five tournaments next year and quarterly social events.

You’ll also contribute to advocating and promoting pickleball—donating paddles and balls to Evergreen High School, lobbying for more play times and days at Wulf, providing instructors at EPRD's Summer Kids Camps and adult lessons throughout the year, and promoting a new facility at Marshdale as part of ballot measure 6C.

Now through the end of the year, sign up or renew your membership good through all of 2024. Or better yet, if you're a UnitedHealthcare customer, get your membership paid for and raise funds for EPC just by playing pickleball and attending our social events via our partnership with Element 3 Health.

And don't forget your 5% discount on clothing and equipment at Pickleball Central with EPC's club discount code crever. For details and signup, visit the Membership page.

EPC Board Nominations

Nominations for EPC board positions are open. If you'd like to nominate someone or want to volunteer to serve on the board, contact John Dunlop, EPC Secretary. Two current board members, John and Monte Poague, are running to keep their seats, while a third position is open. We’re looking for someone with writing and photo skills to take over the newsletter working alongside Debbie Marshall. The election will take place at the annual membership meeting Nov. 30.

Issue 6C

Here's our chance to make a difference for local pickleball. Phase 1 of the EPRD strategic plan includes a 10-court dedicated pickleball facility at Marshdale. Ballots will be in the mail this week.
