EPC Introduces Pickleball to EPRD Kids' Summer Camp

Can you imagine the chaos?! Sarah German, Linda Jacobsen and 7 EPC volunteers put 16 kid campers through their paces Wednesday at Wulf. Linda reports that the kids had a great time, received their gold star stickers and posed insightful pickleball questions such as ”Why are you all so old?”

Bluegrass Powerhouse Laney Lou & the Bird Dogs Play Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton Sunday

Brian Kassay, left, is the son of pickleball players Frank & Sarah Kassay

Frank and Sarah Kassay invite you to put down your paddles and hoist a pint at the Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, Sunday at 4 pm to catch their son’s band Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs.

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, out of Bozeman, MT, are regulars on the brewpub/festival circuit. The band consists of Lena (Laney) Schiffer on vocals/guitar/percussion, Matt Demarais on vocals/banjo, Ethan Demarais on bass, Josh Moore on vocals/guitar and Brian Kassay on fiddle/mandolin/harmonica.

Saving Country Music.com says, "Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs bring a blazing exuberance to bluegrass while still honoring its traditions, and put together a set to remember.”

“Their music is the pure, rollicking, breakneck type that conjures visions of packed barrooms, plenty of whiskey, uninhibited dancing, and lots of sweat."
-Melissa Mylchreest, Missoula Independent

"Kassay's sawing fiddle soars over Matt Demarais's banjo and vocals and Ethan Demarais's driving bass. Singer/guitarist Lena Schiffer's voice is both refined and sharp as a knife, and gives the band a sound of rustic mastery."
-Keegan Grady, MSU Exponent

Sounds like this will be a foot-stompin’, hand-clappin;, hootin’-and-a-hollerin’ good time. And BEER!
