Let's Try This Spring Fling Thing Again

Boy did we mess up. Sent you all a reminder to RSVP for the Wednesday, April 13, 4:30-7 pm event at El Rancho with no way to actually RSVP. So here it is.

EPC and EPRD Collaborate to Keep Marshdale Courts Playable Year Round

Yesterday, EPC board members Pat Bixenman and Linda Jacobsen met with EPRD staff Heart Cameron, Park Operations Manager, and Bob Schmitz, Facility Operations Manager, to equip the Snow Angels’ with what they need to keep Marshdale Courts cleared of snow. Here’s what they worked out:

  • EPC will share the cost of two new shovels specially equipped to prevent court damage

  • EPRD will purchase a new equipment storage locker for the shovels, brooms and tarps that will replace the lock box sitting inside court #1

  • The gates at Marshdale will be secured with a cable combination lock during the winter allowing the Angels to clear snow and open the courts to play, then relock the gates to keep rogue shovellers off the courts

  • “No Dogs Allowed” signs will be posted on the entrance gate

And best of all, the courts will be repaired - crack filled and sealed - when weather and scheduling allows, so that all eight of the courts will be in good condition through the summer.
