EPRD Beginner Classes Begin Oct. 30

Someone has probably asked you if there are classes for beginning players. Well, here they are. Registration is now open for Sarah German’s popular Beginner Classes at Wulf: one session is Oct. 30 & Nov. 6, the second is Nov. 13 & 20. Learn strokes, rules and etiquette in two, 90-minute classes from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm. Tell your newbie friends that balls, paddles and more fun than they’ve had since they were a kid are provided.

If you were looking to get in on Sarah’s Next Steps class for players with some experience looking to improve their game, you’re too late. November’s class is sold out. Let her know you want to get in on the next one and she might hold a place for you.

When the Frost Is on the Pumpkin: Marshdale or Wulf?

We can’t deny it. It’s chilly these mornings at Marshdale. Players are showing up closer to 9 am bundled in hoodies, pants and gloves. But with the west courts bathing in warm sunshine by 10 am, it’s down to t-shirts and sweat towels. There’s talk of playing outside as much as possible this winter. So if it’s a bluebird morning, plan on getting out for a hearty Colorado pickleball experience at Marshdale.

On the other hand, when it’s raining, snowing, freezing on a gray winter morning it’s nice to have four indoor courts at Wulf Rec Center. The staff is there early to sweep the floor and roll out the nets. Play times are split by skill level so you can count on good match ups whatever your skill level.

Wherever you play, practice your drop shot, be courteous to other players and try not to laugh too much.
