Get Your EPRD Board Election Mail-in Ballot Now

Letter to Evergreen pickleball players, friends and families from Monty Estis and Don Rosenthal:

The election for EPRD Board of Directors is Tuesday, May 5. With Covid-19 health and economic risks, there are certainly more important issues requiring our attention right now. However, EPRD does not have the authority to postpone the election, so it will likely be held on schedule. Eventually, EPRD will be back in operation and this election is still important.

We—Monty Estis and Don Rosenthal—are running for election to the Board and urge you to vote. We would appreciate your vote for us to fill the two open seats.

District residents can vote Tuesday, May 5 in person at Wulf or Buchanan rec centers or earlier using a mail-in ballot. Given the Covid-19 situation, voting by mail is likely easier and safer.

To vote by mail, your request for a mail-in ballot must be received by the election official by Tuesday, April 28. Whether or not you are on the State of Colorado permanent mail-in ballot list, you must be on the EPRD Special District mail-in ballot list to receive your ballot by mail. We suggest you download this form now, fill it out and e-mail it to the EPRD election official: Peggy Rupp, at prupp@cccfirm.com. Or you can mail it to: Peggy Rupp, Collin, Cockrel and Cole, P.C.; 390 Union Blvd., Suite 400; Denver, CO 80228.

Every registered voter who lives in EPRD’s district can vote. So, if there are multiple registered voters in your household, be sure everyone requests and sends in a mail-in ballot. And, feel free to pass this election information on to others in the district.

This letter is sent to you primarily as a public service announcement; however, we also hope to earn your vote. Monty Estis has served on the board for the past four years and has in-depth, first-hand knowledge of EPRD issues and operations. Don Rosenthal would be new to the board, but is quickly coming up to speed on key issues. Both of us are active users of EPRD facilities. If elected, we will use a fact-based approach to managing EPRD and promise to practice fiscal responsibility.

Our bios, the bios of other candidates, and the application for an absentee mail-in ballot are on the EPRD website. (Scroll down and click on Board Member Election.)

If you have any questions or concerns about EPRD, please feel free to contact one or both of us.

Thank you for voting,

Monty Estis: mestis@gmail.com
Don Rosenthal: donald.rosenthal@gmail.com
