New schedule at Wulf, switch at Marshdale
A new indoor schedule takes effect at Wulf tomorrow. “The major change is that we are hosting youth volleyball tournaments each Saturday from Sept. 28 through Oct. 26, so no drop-in pickleball or basketball on Saturdays until November,” said Jeff Sweet, EPRD recreation supervisor-athletics. “Also, on Oct. 17 and 18 there is no school, so EPRD camp may be using the west half of the gym. Pickleball may be limited to two courts on those days.”
In addition, Ladder will move from Marshdale to Wulf starting Thursday, Oct. 3, from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Ladder will be followed by Intermediate play from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All eight Marshdale courts again will be available for drop-in play on Thursday mornings.
Tuesday, Oct. 1, will mark the start of a monthly switch from east to west for levels of play at Marshdale. Competitive play will move from the four courts on the west end to the four courts on the east end, closest to the pavilion. So, Recreational play will move from the east end to the west end. To be specific, during October, Courts 1, 2, 7, 8 will be for Competitive play and courts 3, 4, 5, 6 will be for Recreational play.
The three outdoor pickleball courts at Evergreen Middle School in Bergen Park remain open for play after 4 p.m. on school days and all day on weekends and other non-school days. Please be sure to park in the main school lot and not right by the courts. We want to keep these courts available by respecting the conditions of access to school property.
EPRD adds more pickleball classes
