Canyon Courier Features Monte Poague at Rodeo Parade
Many of the thousands of spectators at the Evergreen Rodeo Parade were introduced to pickleball for the first time. Monte Poague reports that people were approaching him and the other EPC members marching behind Mike Morris’s classic 1960 Chevy Biscayne, asking “what’s pickleball?” and “where can we learn to play?” Even the parade announcer called out EPC, saying “there’s a pickleball club in Evergreen?”
EPC’s presence at the parade and the resulting Courier story. “(Cowboy) Hats Off to the Evergreen Rodeo” exposed a whole new audience to pickleball.
