Meet Board Candidate, Erich Meyer and Vote Monday at 10 am

We asked Erich why he wanted to run for a board position on Evergreen Pickleball Club. Here’s his answer:

“My desire to serve on the EPC board is to bring my leadership skills to strengthen the board to meet future needs. EPC has grown over the years and the Board has added structure, friendly play, and fun activities. When issues arise they have worked together to resolve them, COVID-19 being a great example.

“I believe my 38 years of corporate experience in leadership, problem resolution and customer relations will be an asset to EPC. In 2001, I retired from UPS after 25 years in management. My responsibilities included Operations, Human Resources and Legal/Regulatory special assignments. I finished out my career as a Gateway Manager at DIA overseeing day air ops and HazMat compliance. The high point in my career was implementing UPS air services to Mexico and Canada.

“My pickleball life started in January 2017.  I was passing by the Wulf gym and saw all these folks having fun playing some game. A very kind lady player came up and introduced herself. She explained a few things about pickleball, handed me a paddle, and I have not stopped playing since.  I am hooked on pickleball for life. Thank you, Sarah German.

“In the last four years I have enjoyed pickleball most everywhere that I have traveled, from Bainbridge Island to Honolulu and many clubs in western US, including Denver Metro area. I have witnessed the many ways that different clubs organize play and have gained a broad knowledge of organizational styles. The one common thread in each of the clubs is having fun, and making friendships strong.”
